I know what you guys are thinking.. not this post again! {/grovel}

To the point: I will be retiring as linkshell leader and Stormlight will be broken before the end of next week 7/13 (friday the 13th omg!).

An optional merger is planned with Asunder. A new linkshell will be created. You could say Aesir is being reborn, figuratively in that old friends are reunited, and indeed literally–the linkshell name will be Aesir.

It is quite clear that the majority of the linkshell wants to log in casually. <– This is an important topic. I hold no personal grudge against anyone who takes a break from this game whether it be 1 day or 30 days! Lets face it, the game is not that engaging. If you feel I'm addressing you, know that I blame myself for failing to inspire as a leader. I never actually felt like a linkshell leader in any case; more like the party leader who tells people what to do [lol]. That is my strength imho: leading in battle.

And so, leadership will be left to Niran and Minai. Ullr is expected back in October. I will pretty much be taking a back seat to organizing formally. Look out for tells as I will likely be forming parties behind the scenes!

I and others feel this is a great move for everyone. We will be able to play with old friends in a casual atmosphere. I stressed and continue to stress this very important aspect: Aesir MUST be casual or another coup WILL happen. This will continue until 2.0 when free companies are available. I strongly feel linkshells will be casual chat rooms while free companies will be endgame groups. Perhaps Stormlight will be reborn then!

As a result of my formal resignation of leadership, it will be entirely up to the discretion of Niran and Minai on who to admit or deny a pearl to Aesir. And of course, it also is entirely up to your discretion whether or not you wish to join (note the use of the phrase 'optional merger' above).

I must say I am very proud we made it this long without a DKP. The ability to allow maturity to govern as opposed to a set of rules is unprecedented in my experience. Maybe it was just the casual nature of the game to allow that, but regardless it is quite an achievement. Thanks for this!!
